TAKSOPEN TS3
-How long have you been around ?
We applied for the patent in 2012. We started the webshop in 2015, right after we got the patent approved on the Taksopen and started selling our first model, the Taksopen TS1, around the same time. Today it is called Taksopen TS3. 10 months later we produced our first variant of the snowrake, which was given the model name SN1 but now has the designation SN3 and SN3-M. Taksopen TS3 is a registered patent (on the function and design) and the snowrake is design and pattern protected (no one can copy our design). Snowrakes that look like ours are pirated copies.
-Does the roofbrush Taksopen fit all types of roofs?
Yes, e.g. tiles, concrete tiles, metal roofs, plastic roofs (patio roofs), slate roofs, glass roofs, etc. The width between the brushes, to fit the roof, is easily set on the Taksopen. The Taksop brushes are movable sideways. For example, for roofing felt or similar rough surfaces, you have to work more with the plastic scraper and the white brushes (accessories).
-How long is the telescopic handle extended or retracted?
About 6 meters, and about 1.83 m retracted. Divided into 4 tubes.
The 8 m shaft is about 2.35 m retracted and divided into 4 tubes.
-How much does the Taksopen weigh in total ?
Only 3.1 kilos for complete with the 6 meter shaft and about 4 kg with the 8 m shaft.
-Do you have to be very strong to sweep the roof with the Taksopen?
No, you don't. It weighs little when you lift it to the desired position. 3.1 kilos is like 3 liters of milk. You just need to put the Taksopen at the top where you want to start sweeping, and pull it down towards you. You don't need to press hard on your forehead.
-Does Taksopen really work on moss?
There are many different types of moss and they grow differently on different roofs. Taksopen removes the green, round and "bumpy" variety. The brown-black moss on black, coarse concrete tiles is usually either rock-hard or comes off easily. The one that is thinner, like 1-3 millimeters is more difficult, but thins out and disappears after regular sweeping. If you want to completely kill algae and moss, you still need to sweep & scrape the roof first before treating with chemical substances. A very big advantage of Taksopen is that you can sweep and scrape the roof from the ground. We work with Tercol for the treatment of the roof after roof sweeping.
-The foam rubber cylinders / brushes feel a bit too soft ?
They are soft and effective but have a specially made aluminum stick that holds the brushes in place and makes the soft brushes stiffer. If the foam rubber is too hard, there is a risk that the brick tiles (but not concrete tiles) will move. It is not so much force that can sweep the debris down, but the friction between the foam rubber brush and the roof. Work on scraping with the plastic scraper, turn back and sweep down with the blue brushes, back and scrape, repeat, etc.
There are also harder white foam rubber brushes and steel brushes available as accessories for the Taksopen. The white brushes should not be used on clay tiles.
-How long do the foam rubber brushes last?
Difficult to give an exact answer. It varies depending on the surface to be swept and how hard it is. The blue brushes are "all-round" brushes but can wear more on a rough concrete pan surface. The white brushes are better there. Try your hand with what is in the package; the blue brushes and scrapers.
-Can the Taksop break. Is it poor quality?
You have to be very violent or very careless for something to break.
We manufacture all parts in Sweden and the telescopic shaft from Germany. We have the telescopic locks and tubes that can be replaced (order item) if the accident has occurred.
Do you have dealers?
We have chosen to focus and serve consumers directly and professional users. If you are in Stockholm and want to feel and look at Taksopen, you can do so if you agree on a visit to our warehouse in Bromma.
-How long is your delivery time?
We normally ship every day and then it takes 1-5 days depending on the shipping method and address.
Snowrake SN3 and SN3-M
-Does the snowrake work on solar panels ?
We have compiled good info regarding this under the tab snowrake and at the bottom of the page with the heading "-Can you use the snow blower on the solar panels?".
